Star Gazing and Hair Raising

Squidge has enjoyed us playing with our Story Cubes this week...

While Sprout had started climbing with Gruff again...

We spent a day at their grandparents' house where they played piggy in the middle with their Fruit Ninja toys...

...played with the 3D T-Rex...

...Squidge made some robot bobble heads...

...Moppet played on some new apps...

...I found some origami tutorials on YouTube and we made some frogs...

...which we managed to flip over...

More papercraft at home with some more Foldify figures designed by Squidge...

And back with their grandparents a big long game of Cleudo :)

We tried some t-shirt art with a bleach pen we'd picked up...

...but were disappointed when the bleach had absolutely no bleaching effect at all!

There was a really clear night so Sprout asked if we could get the telescope out and they all looked at the moon...

I had an afternoon out with just Squidge and he chose to go for pizza. We drew a picture together...

...shopped some pictures on my phone...

...and played some fruit ninja.

Sprout and Squidge have been playing some Tekkit together on LAN, but mainly Lego Marvel Super Heroes. After they completed the main missions last week they're concentrating on the Deadpool missions this week.

I had an evening out with just Sprout. He chose to go to Macdonalds and plan his Rube Goldberg machine.

Back at home he was extremely excited to discover Skydoesminecraft has a new server, so he spent some time playing on it...

We all had a trip out together to take thank you letters for their Christmas presents round to different family members, although they ended up spending most of the time asleep in the car...

An unprecedented picture of Squidge snuggling up with the cat...

Sprout told me he'd solved his Rubik cube, and thought it hilarious when I believed him :) Apparently he'd taken it apart and put it back the right way :)

We spent a couple of afternoons with friends, and went to the park with friends one afternoon to try out our new rocket balloons...

...and they all had fun on the spinning swing too :)

Back at home we blew up some ordinary balloons and rubbed them on our hair to make it stand up with static, they thought that was great :)

We took Squidge and Moppet to Blackbrook Zoo, where they loved looking at the penguins and the meerkats, but there were a few too many free-ranging peacocks for their comfort zone and the playground and cafe were both shut, so we lasted about an hour. (Lucky it's 99p entry in January!)

While we were deftly avoiding peacocks, Sprout was at Enginuity at Ironbridge. Apparently he had a great time, and exclamations of, "I LOVE science!" and, "I LOVE physics!" could be heard on the way there and back :) His only disappointment was being able to see a workshop going on with a pre-booked group that he couldn't join in with, so we're trying to organise one now.

Squidge's main themes of this week: Questions! How/why/what/where shooting stars/gloveboxes/heatlamps/flamingos/social niceties, among other things. Also the return of Favourite Things and Dream About, our before-bed ritual of old :)

Moppet: Peppa Pig episodes, and Doc McStuffins games. Oh and the discovery of Finn's stethoscope. Fun! Also the welcome addition of the word 'yes' to her vocabulary, to join 'no', 'stop it' and 'NO' :)

Sprout: Delight in the relatively new Dad Cubed channel. He tells me a lot about what Dad and Nerd do on their videos, and how the dynamics of the two are working. Some intense play on Hexxit. Also a resurgence in interest about dinosaurs, and a happy discovery of the Ministry of Silly Walks video that I sent him after he did one of his own. :)
