The Week of So Many Birthdays

In the space of the last eight days, Moppet turned 1...

...Sprout turned 7...

and Gruff turned 30, so it's been a week of celebrations and busyness!

We've spent most of it at Sherwood Forest Center Parcs, where one of the children's favourite things is always the birds that come to the window.

We spent time playing on the (so cold I couldn't feel my hands) beach...

...burying Minecraft Steve...

... and building some castle ruins.

We were lucky to be staying on the lake with a lovely view...

...right next to all the playgrounds...

... with some little 'Minecraft' houses...

... and swinging boats perfect for bubble-blowing pirates :)

 There were jigsaws...

... and rowing boats...

... and sparkly 'cocktails' accompanying decorate-your-own pancakes ...

... and the most energetic arcade games in the world...

... and a big Lego policeman...

... and movie nights (with Moppet delighting in discovering Squidge's chocolate!) ...

... and big loooong walks...

... and archery (Sprout was very excited that he actually hit the target).

The boys decorated cupcakes...

... and Moppet went down slides for the first time (ones in the pool too!).

Sprout and Squidge both built lots of Lego...

... and beat Gruff at ten pin bowling...

...and went to battle in laser combat.

Sprout was really excited when he noticed tree names from Minecraft on the information point maps, then we found lots more Minecraft words on them too!

Sprout spent lots of time perfecting his balancing and jumps...

... and the boys had their usual speed round of mini golf :)

The highlight of the week for both of the seemed to be the pool, with Sprout donning his goggles and noseclip to master swimming his way, and Squidge loving his inflatable 'Wishy' :)

In fact the only way to tempt them out on our last day was with the promise of a go in this huge drier, which they thought was fantastic!

It's been a week of happiness...

... and laughter...

... and cuddles...

...and now we all need to sleep for a week or two :)
