International Sweets/Candy Mission: China

While we wait for the couple of swaps from other countries that haven't come yet, we had a think of what international shops there were round here. Pretty close we have Jen Fat Hong Chinese supermarket, so Squidge, Moppet and I went along to see if they had any sweets. We came back with Edo bear biscuits...

...egg biscuits...

...and a box of Pocky. So more biscuity than sweety but that's ok :)

First up, the Edo...

And the verdict for these cute little chocolate-filled biscuits?

Sprout: "Yeuuuuch!!! ... Just kidding! Quite nice. I think the taste is quite good."
Squidge: "Nice and super nice!"
And Gruff, standing in for Moppet who was asleep: "Reasonable but sickly."

Next up, the egg biscuits. After much sniffing and face pulling, Squidge decided he didn't want to try one, and Sprout had a nibble...

Sprout: "It smells like peanut butter. OH NO IT *TASTES* LIKE PEANUT BUTTER! IT TASTES LIKE PEANUT BUTTTTTTERRRRRR!!!!!!! I'm going to get rid of the taste by eating grapes." An hour later... "I need more grapes."
Squidge: "No, I'm too scared."
Gruff: "Like pink wafers! But peanutty."

And finally, Pocky...

The verdict? Somewhat divided...

Sprout: "Oh that tastes bad. Very very bad. Very bad."
Squidge: "Mmmm, nice."

Up on the wall they go...
