Lego Lamp and Slightly Damp

The week started off very Lego-y, with Squidge and Sprout both designing their own Lego games, and then Sprout moving on to designing a town complete with mine.

We got out a bath bomb making set we'd been meaning to do for a while, and they both made vanilla-scented bath bombs, Squidge's blue and Sprout's red.

We then had a crazy couple of days, meeting friends at a play area, spending the day at Waterworld when Ben had a day's holiday from work, and gradually ammassing Link to Hope boxes from really generous people, all ready to be shipped off to Romania ready for Christmas. The boys are very excited that it's looking like a giant festive Jenga :D

We were lucky enough to go to Alton Towers again this year for their fireworks display. It was such a fun (if extremely wet!) day, I had a lovely couple of hours just with Sprout where we went on all the things he's now tall enough to go on. He absolutely loved the Runaway Mine Train, and thought it was hilarious when I got wet on the Rapids :D

Here are the boys encased in ice...

...and learning to drive...

...and Sprout very bravely on his own on the Froggy Hopper as he was too tall (for the first time) for one of us to be allowed on with him and he was a bit daunted by that.

Squidge and Moppet waiting for Sprout to come out of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory...

...Sprout after we came off the Rapids, and just before he went and got his own back with the water pistols that overlook the ride...

...everyone mesmerised by the creatures in the Sealife Centre...

...Sprout and Gruff on the little pirate ship )which was a piece of cake to him now he's been on Blade!)...

...Squidge being a scurvy swaaaab...

...Sprout and Squidge duelling while waiting for the fireworks to start...

Moppet with her light up hair, which she quickly swapped for a sword...

...then on the rides in the dark...

...and finally the fireworks! They were brilliant (although they have been better before.)

A pretty restful weekend followed while we recuperated some energy, played lots more Lego, and answered lots of physics questions for Sprout (he has gravity on his mind again).

Inspired by this UFO lamp, Sprout decided to build one from Lego...

...and together we came up with this! The creativity is all his :)

We put a push-light inside and put it on top of a glass, plus he put a red lightbrick up in the cockpit for even better effects :)
